They more easily observe aquatic life without disturbing their surroundings. You can achieve this, too. PADI Open Water including Buoyancy clinic

During the Open Water Diver course we train you to become a diver. Many of the skills are directed towards knowing how to handle different situations, such as clearing your mask under water. Buoyancy skills are trained as well. In my experience, many starting divers could use additional training in buoyancy skills to improve their trim. The buoyancy clinic included in this course is exactly that extra bit of training designed to improve your trim.
